2,290 points and Four Corners.

Barring an asteroid striking the Dean Dome Thursday, Tyler Hansbrough will end his evening the leading scorer in University of North Carolina basketball history. That's big kiddies ... that's more points than all time college basketball lumanaries Michael Jordan, James Worthy, Walter Davis, Billy Cunningham, Antawn Jamison, and the legendary Phil Ford, (the current record holder for a few more hours).

As happy as I am for Tyler Hansbrough, the young Heel in me kind wishes the record was Phil's forever. He meant that much to the schools program and the fans of his era.

To say Ford was an important part of Carolina basketball is like saying Abraham Lincoln made a "subtle" decision regarding slavery. Dean Smiths "Four Corners" offensive scheme as run by Ford forced the NCAA to change the rules adding a shot clock. I've been a avid Carolina fan since the mid 70's and for my money Phil Ford may have been the best I've ever seen in blue. For Tyler Hansbrough to break this thirty year old record will say volumes about both.

Go Blue.

I'm not happy ... not at all.

The beginning of this years NCAA Mens basketball season had North Carolina ranked no.1 in every poll from Raleigh-Durham to Russia. That was good... I was happy. North Carolina Basketball is as important to me as food and water is to the rest of you mortals ...it's very necessary. In a heroic attempt not to get too overjoyed I mentioned to anyone that would listen "it's not how your ranked when the season starts it's where your ranked when it ends" ( sage wisdom if ever I heard it right?). I also said the dreaded " barring injury we look poised to when it all'.

Damn.

Last night star Freshman Tyler Zeller breaks his wrist and possibly ends his season!!!! This with All Planet Senior Tyler Hansbrough nursing a stress reaction in his leg out indefinitely!! Oh wait I'm sorry, did I neglect to mention that Senior defensive star Marcus Ginyard is also out indefinitely with a stress fracture in his foot?

I hate the word indefinitely. I'm not happy.
